Sotiris Mamoutopoulos was born and raised in Veria. He studied graphic design in Thessaloniki and later in Athens he was involved in window and store design and decoration (Visual merchandising). Over time, he also turned to web design.
A multifaceted personality, outside of stereotypes and limiting rules, creates images, shapes volumes, structures shapes, with the senses as antennae, the hands as means and the soul as the guide. The driving force is the imagination, which with the help of a variety of materials (acrylic paints, oils, crayons, markers, ink, pencils, wire and sheets of iron, copper, brass, alpacas, aluminum, electrical materials, wood, stone, glass etc.), within his works it changes dimensions and multiplies. Images are transformed and feelings are clothed in forms. Spontaneity is evident in his visual actions and without fear or condescension he dares to create his own aesthetic effect.
His monotypes, wire sculptures, lamps, mix media compositions are the visual results of a long-term internal search, but also of a bold exploration of materials without sterile divisions into trivial and non-trivial, which characterize his own personal aesthetics.
